Dan’s story

Dan's story

Dan started having pain under his left rib cage. He explained itas feeling like a softball. For two years he went to many doctors and had many tests. If the doctors tests didn't show anythg they would just give up on him. Like so many that suffer from adhesions he was told it was all in his head. After loosing 60 pounds and on 270mg. of morphine a day a surgeon did a explortory to see if he could fine what was going on. They found adhesions had the colon pinned to the inner chest wall. The surgery relieved the pain for a few months, but of course with in a short while the pain was back and much worst. The surgeon would do nothing else. He said they were waiting for spray gel to be approved for use in the United States.
We started researching spray gel and found the IAS message board. There was a posting from Lisa Graven. To our surprise Lisa lives just 50 miles from us and we went to meet with her. We left our meeting feeling like there was reason for hope.
Dan took the information to his surgeon to read and asked his thoughts. His reply "This was Dans best hope at that point in time"
We left for germany to see Dr. Kruschinski feeling like we were taking life in the right direction. On January 10, 2003 Dan had his first surgery and a second look on January 17, his second look. Four days after the first operation Dan said his pain was gone.
Everyone went out of there way to make us feel at home. The apartment overlooking the main river provided a wonderful setting for Dans recovery. From a call each day to a hand shake at each visit, the care, talent and personal attention Dr. Kruschinski provided was awesome.
Dan is now able to live a normal life in contray to before his trip to germany. It is wonderful to him smile and laughing again.
Dr. Kruschinski, you have given Dan a second chance at life and the words of Thank You will never be enough.
